  • 28-year-old Jeremy Millis was arrested on one count of attempted first-degree murder and one count of physical child abuse after an unresponsive infant was admitted to the hospital.

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A man was re-arrested for murder after an 8-month-old baby died Wednesday morning when doctors took the child off life-support.

Deputy Tom Peine with the Pima County Sheriff's Department tells KGUN9 that Jeremy Millis was arrested last week for physically abusing the 8-month-old baby of his former girlfriend.

The baby, Connor Kroviak, was taken to the hospital in critical condition but was taken off life-support Wednesday.

Millis had been released from jail on bond, but detectives went to his parent's house Wednesday morning and re-arrested him for first degree murder.

Millis was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center.

Deputies learned that the mother of the infant had left her son in the care of Millis while she went to work, Peine said. The investigation later revealed that the baby boy had been choked several times.
