Family of La Encantada shooting victim remembers their brother

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Eliot Cobb was a father, a brother, and a friend.

Saturday morning, Peter Cobb received the news that his oldest brother, 65-year-old Eliot Cobb was shot and killed Friday night at Firebirds restaurant at La Encantada.

Peter said he was in shock and devastated to hear that his brother who was healthy would have his life taken the way it was.

"We are just coping the best way we can. We can just do what Eliot would do in this situation and honor his life and wishes," Peter said.

Eliot's love of cycling brought him to the desert 10 years ago.

"He came down here one winter after Christmas and ended up falling in love with Oro Valley and the Tucson region," Peter remembered.

Now his family has made the trip to Southern Arizona to pick up the pieces of Eliot's life and clean out his home.

"It has brought is close together and we've realized we need to live everyday because you just don't know what's around the corner," Peter said.

Peter tells KGUN9 that his brother will be buried in Oregon.
