(R) Arizona Senator, Frank Antenori
We Don’t have a Gun Problem. We have a Crazy People Problem.
In the aftermath of a terrifying elementary school murder rampage in Newtown, Connecticut, the media has centered on public outcry for more gun control. Antenori shares when he heard the story. He disagrees with the more demands on gun control limits, but rather focuses on the mental instability history of these killers.
“We don’t have a gun problem. We have a Crazy people problem,” says Antenori. He explains the process of seeking help, warning signs, and how difficult it is to get help for mental issues anymore. Justice updates us on Adam Lanza’s mother’s attempts to seek help. She intended to commit him to a hospital.
Antenori lists the steps on how one can get someone psychologically evaluated, similarly to a search warrant. They would have to provide enough verified information to convince the legal system to be involved. He mentions medical report findings that link a higher chance of committing violent acts onto others or themselves if an individual is mentally ill, including autism. He tells a story of a mental health patient released back on the streets where he continued to performed violent acts numerous times. How the system releases and trusts patients who are prescribed medication back in to the public.
Frank clarifies what’s required in government buildings who have gun control security and actually how City Councilman, Steve Kozachik is trying to make them less secure. Antenori accuses Steve as being a closet hippie liberal disguising himself as a Republican.
