Dr. Betsy MCaughey – Author of book Beating ObamaCare

She explains hospital cuts that are taken from other areas to shift to other areas will compromise real care in the hospital.  Nurses will be spread thin.  Hospitals are bacteria growing Petri dishes. Dr. Betsy says, Nursing staff and bacteria clean up will be cut back. The cleaning is already inadequate.  She says our chances of dying are higher.

Her advice on what can we do

Babyboomers-lock in relationships with doctors now. You won’t be able to find adequate doctors when lost in the medicare system.  Doctors are dropping out of the Medicare system.
Women and privacy rules.
Your doctor will be legally obligated to enter your file in a large database, in which, all your doctors will have access to view it, some that are different specialists.

Hospital – Bring a can of bleach wipes instead of flowers
She suggests rather than bringing flowers, candy, etc. bring bleach wipes and wipe down surfaces, remotes, the phones, hand knobs and more.

Pick a long time specialized surgeons
They  are limited in certain areas and will be with Obamacare. The pace of medical knowledge is increasing.  There are new equipments, new technology that shouldn’t be stifled.

One caller asks about Medicare Advantage Options for Insurance coverage.  However, the claims seem uneven.

Doctors feel they are losing their custom tailored treatments
She says, now that the government will move to more control, there may be a standardized process rather than being more personalized to each patient. They feel their hands are tied.

One Caller asks for advice while she’s going into nursing:
Nurses are going to be laid off, because hospitals will be financially cut.  Work loads heavier, but also consider looking for work other than the hospital.

She says the consumer will actually be paying more in insurance care for all the requirements.
